Use these directions to make the seven tangram pieces as a measurement activity for your students.  Measuring lengths to find midpoints and following directions make this a nice hands-on activity with the end product being each student has their own set of tangrams to use the rest of the year.

Telling Time With A Broken Clock.  Learn to tell time with just the hour hand.  A nice introductory lesson in telling time with a clock that has no minute hand.   A clock with only an hour hand can be read with reasonable accuracy.  Use lots of approximate language.   This version includes worksheets and internet links for extension activities.
